thx, but you only name them, nothing more… no comparison at all
that’s a nice start, but I’m hungry for more

@Tomek: Thank you for your suggest.
Was inspired by this article and went to wiki to read more. After testing few of them (xmind and freemind because of using M$windows at work) I found http://vue.tufts.edu/ and as for me - it rules! FreeMind is a bit slow and not very usable, XMind is somehow too complex for novice users (maybe i’ll switch to it in future), but VUE is fast and simple.

First of all, thanks for giving pointers to many good mind mapping tools. I tested three of them: Semantik, which I have used previously, Vym and Xmind (both tools completely new to me). “Tested” is not adequate here because I haven’t really compared these tools feature by feature. What I write below is my very subjective opinion.
Semantik: Decent tool, nice export options (e.g. OpenOffice).
Xmind: oh yes ! based on Eclipse, very easy, very intuitive, beautiful, easy to use (great key bindings, very easy to learn) definitely my number 1 !
Vym: I run it, I started to click an tried to create a mind map and I, well, I was stuck. I wasn’t able to do anything. That’s not good - I believe such software should have VERY INTUITIVE interface. Vym hasn’t got such interface, or at least it is not compatible with me. That was enough for me, sorry Vym, maybe next time. You can say I didn’t give Vym a chance… well, I don’t see a point to use Vym if there is Xmind around. If there are some features of Vym that make this tool superior, please let me know.
